To All My Haters, Thanks For All The Love…

To all my haters, thanks for all the love

I detoured off my original editorial calendar to talk a bit about all the comments I’ve received from my last two Video Blogs.

There are going to be times in my life when I grow in my thoughts of certain parts of the Bible, but the revelation I am receiving at the time is what I am walking through publicly with all of you. I appreciate those of you who know me and know my heart and will not make rude remarks about me because of that.

Other than all the blatant “F@#$ You” and the “Go back to the kitchen you republican woman” some comments that really hurt me (yes, I am working at guarding my heart in this area) were things like:
“She rather offend God than man.” “You are stupid and a liar.”

First things first:

  1. I made a quick video blog to work as a commercial for my FULL written blog. I am new at this video blogging thing, and made a couple mistakes. I actually believed that people would see the commercial and go read the full blog. Clearly that was wrong… Most people only watched the video and didn’t read my full article which brings clarity and deeper understanding. Lesson learned.

  2. I used titles that were eye catching, in hopes of getting people to click the blog. This was another lesson learned, as people took JUST the title and commented and bashed me and ran with it. Im going to call this “Title Commenting.” It is like the recent outcry concerning Verizon and their cable options. Title read: “Verizon allows child themed porn.” People started wildly claiming, “child porn is illegal!!!”  I just reading their remarks shaking my head, thinking, Did you not read the title? Child THEMED porn, as in adults pretending to be children. Nothing illegal. Heinous and disgusting, yes… but the “title commenters” need to read through the headline before jumping on a bandwagon.

  3. I am a survivor of sex trafficking. This is my platform, my passion, my testimony. I am not a theologian, nor do I claim to be one. Do I know my word? Yes! But my blogs are intended to throw a curve ball into the faith community to make them think about current social justice issues, mainly human trafficking. My blog “why christians shouldn’t care SOO much about same sex MARRIAGE. (not homosexuality, we’re talking about the US law of marriage here, “title commenters”)” was simply asking zealous christians to remember other social injustice issues plaguing our country. That was it. Plain and simple.

  4. You do not need to involve my children and call them names. Out of line, uncalled for, and mama bear will come out. “Hold my coat Jesus, I need to punch this dude in the face.” Did I mention I was human, oh and a survivor of sex trafficking- that means I am tough and fearless, btw!?

  5. Offend God??????? Recently I wore a “Pray for Pimps” shirt at a human trafficking event and was reamed by the anti-trafficking community for shoving my faith as a nationally known Survivor Leader, down their throats. Now, I blog, asking the faith community to put as much zeal into fighting human trafficking and I get my theology picked apart by modern day Pharisees. I love Jesus, I love God. He saved me from the pits of hell, the literal grasp of death and put my feet on steady ground. I have given up everything for Him, I have chosen ministry instead of money. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. So to even say that I rather offend God than man, makes me want to just cry at the foolishness, but since the bible says not to call your brother an idiot, I wont go there… publicly 😉 (matthew 5:22)

  6. While I use humor to make these topics palatable, I am not at all insinuating that I don’t care. I am a fighter and an overcomer. I have been beaten, and raped, and sold for nearly six years. When your words hurt and I run to my heavenly father, crying over the bullies, He gently reminds me that I’ve been through worse.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Proverbs 18:21 Words kill, words give life;they’re either poison or fruit—you choose. (the message)

1 Peter 3:9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it.
